Kofta Curry

Creamy and tasty veg kofta dipped in rich gravy. Make it on special occasions and surprise your family. 

Bottle guard is used to make koftas. You can even use mixed vegetables which will be more healthy. Make ball shapes and deep fry in hot oil.

Preparing the dish is little bit time consuming. First we need to make the koftas and then grave. 

If you are short on time, you can prepare the gravy a day before and pour on koftas later. 

Serve hot with naan, roti or jeera rice.  

Cooking Time : 40-50 Minutes


  •  1 Bottle Gourd (grated & soaked)
  •  2 tsp Coriander Leaves (chopped)
  •  2 tsp Coriander & Cumin Seed Powder
  •  1 tsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
  •   2 tbsp Oil
  •   2 tbsp Coriander Leaves (chopped)
  •   1 onion (chopped)
  •   1 tsp Mix Masala
  •   1 tsp Coriander & Cumin Seed Powder
  •   1 tbsp Dry Coconut (grated)
  •   4-5 tbsp Gram Flour
  •   1/4 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  •   1 tsp Mix Masala
  •    Water
  •   Salt
  •   Oil (for frying) 


  1. Add grated bottle gourd, 1 tsp mix masala, 1 tbsp coriander leaves, 1 tsp Coriander & Cumin Seed Powder, salt as per taste, 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste, and 4-5 t tbsp gram flour in a large bowl. Mix well till all the ingredients are well combined.
  2. Make koftas by applying few drops of oil and make koftas.
  3. Heat oil in a pan.
  4. Drop the kofta in hot oil and deep fry till the golden brown color.
  5. Remove koftas from oil and keep on a plate.
  6. Lets make gravy for koftas.
  7. Add 2 tbsp oil in a pan.
  8. Once the oil is hot enough, add 2tbsp coriander leaves, 1 chopped onion, 1tbsp mix masala, 1tbsp Coriander & Cumin Seed Powder, 1 tbsp dry coconut grated, 1/4 ginger- garlic paste.
  9. Mix well the ingredients and add few drops of water.
  10. Add salt as per taste and let it cook for 10 min.
  11. When the gravy is properly cooked, turn off the over them.
  12. Now Kofta curry ready to serve.
