Coconut Burfi

Coconut Burfi is easy to make and prepared with just handful of ingredients.  It is one of the most common sweet made during festivals in India. 

We do prepare this, whenever we have bulk coconut at home. There should not be any thread consistency which makes this burfi making even more easier. 

Coconut burfi can be made with different versions. Giving the most easy version here. 

Lets us learn how to make coconut burfi at home.

Cooking Time: 40-45 Minutes


  • 1 Cup Freshly Grated Coconut
  • 1 tsp Elaichi Powder
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 3 tbsp cream (Malai)
  • 3/4th Cup Sugar
  • Cashews & Almonds chopped 


  1. Add grated coconut, sugar, cream(malai), milk in a large bowl and on high flame keep mixing it till it forms a lump.
  2. Add cardamom powder, mix well and turn off the gas.
  3. Keep it aside.
  4. Grease a tray with ghee.
  5. Pour the mixture on greased tray evenly.
  6. Sprinkle some nuts over it and press gently.
  7. Let it cool completely.
  8. Cut into desired shape and serve.
  9. Store in an airtight container. It will stay for 2 - 3 days.
