Instant Medu Vada

When everyone is at home during this tough time, how would we eat the dishes we used to earlier? Well, there is always a solution to every problem.

Staying at home is what we can do right now to save our lives. Almost everyone tried different dishes at home and got successful as well. 

What if you forget to soak lentils the previous night but still want to eat some deep fried breakfast? Solution is this Instant Medu Vada. Yes, as the name, it is very much similar to our tradition medu vada just lentils replaced with Bread. 

Crispy outside but soft inside, this instant medu vada can be made with minimal ingredients which are present at home that too in minimum time. No pre-soaking is requied. Just a 15 minutes snack recipe all you are going to read below.

Cooking Time: 15 Minutes
Servings: 2 - 3

  • 2 tbsp Semolina 
  • 2 tbsp Rice Flour
  • 2 tbsp Dried Coconut, chopped thinly
  • 1 tsp Green Chili, Crushed
  • 3 tbsp Curd
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 3 Bread Slices
  • Salt
  • Oil for Deep Frying
  1. Grind bread slices in grinder. 
  2. Add rice flour, semolina, crushed green chili, red chili powder, grated coconut, coriander leaves, curd,  salt, and bread powder.
  3. Combine to a smooth dough.
  4. Take small portion on palm and flatten it. Make a hole at the center.
  5. Likewise make all the vadas.
  6. Heat oil for deep frying.
  7. When the oil is hot enough, drop vadas gently.
  8. Fry till light golden brown.
  9. Likewise fry all the vadas in batches.
  10. Once ready, serve with green coconut chutney.
