Poha Chivda
For 1 kg

Ingredients :
  • 1 kg thin poha
  • 1/4 kilo peanuts
  • 100 gm fried gram (chana dal)
  • 2 cup dry coconut thin slices
  • 1 cup garlic cloves
  • 25 gm mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 100 gm green chili
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 200 gm oil
Recipe :
  1. Heat a pan and dry roast poha on low flame until it is crisp.
  2. Wash and dry pat green chilies, curry leaves. Cut the green chilies into long strips.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry peanuts, coconut slices and chana dal seperately. Remove it in a plate.
  4. Now in the same oil, fry garlic cloves till golden. Add green chilies, mustard seeds, curry leaves and turmeric powder. Cook for 2 minutes. Let it come to room temperature.
  5. Add the above fried ingredients in the poha and mix well. 
  6. Add sugar and salt and mix well. 
  7. Cover the mixture and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  8. Allow the chivda to cool down to room temperature.  
  9. Store it in air tight container.
