Rice Dhokla


Cooking Time : 35 - 40 Minutes
Servings : 2 

Ingredients : 
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/4 cup black gram (Urad dal)
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt
  • 1 tsp Eno powder
  • 3 tsp oil
  • 2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 7-8 curry leaves
  • a pinch full turmeric 
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
Recipe : 
  1. Mix rice and urad dal and soak in water for 4-5 hours.
  2. After 5 hours, grind them in mixer to a smooth paste.
  3. Keep this mixture aside for at least 4-5 hours.
  4. Now add curd, salt, sugar and pepper to it and mix well.
  5. Add water if required to make the batter of pouring consistency.
  6. Grease pan and pour the batter into it. Steam for 8 - 10 minutes or till done.
  7. Keep the dhokla for 5 - 10 minutes to cool down.
  8. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, turmeric and green chilli pieces allow to splutter. Remove from heat and pour on dhoklas.
  9. Now cut the dhoklas into small squares and serve hot with tamarind chutney or green chutney.
