Jackfruit Idli

Cooking Time : 30 - 35 minutes
Servings : 5 - 6
Ingredients : 
  • 2 cups jack fruit juice
  • 2 cups jaggery
  • 1 cup freshly grated coconut
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 1/2 cup idli rava
  • dry fruits, chopped
 Recipe :
  1. Remove seeds from jackfruit and cut finely.
  2. Add water to it and grind it in mixer. 
  3. Now add jaggery, coconut to it and grind again to make a smooth paste.
  4. Roast idli rava till golden brown and add it to the jackfruit mixture and mix well to make a smooth dough. (water need not be added as the pulp itself contains enough water for the dough.)
  5. Fry dry fruits in ghee and add to the dough.
  6. Now add salt and soda to the batter and keep aside for 2-3 hours.
  7. Grease an idli pan and pour the batter into it. Steam for 10 - 15 minutes or till done.
  8. Keep the idilis for 5 - 10 minutes to cool down. 
  9. Remove idlis from pan with the help of a knife and serve hot.
