Split Red Lentil (Masoor Dal) Rolls

  • 1 cup lentil
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 2 tsp ghee (Dalda)
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 50 gm cheese, grated
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 40 gram flour (Maida)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp parsley, chopped
  1. Wash lentils and soak in boiled water for at least 2 hours.
  2. Now pressure cook the lentils and drain all the water.
  3. Now grind it in mixer. 
  4. Cook the rice.
  5. Now combine mashed lentils, rice, salt and grated cheese. Keep it aside.
  6. Heat ghee in a pan and roast maida in it. Now add mustard powder and milk to it making a thick paste.l
  7. Now add onion, parsley and egg yolk. Add pepper and salt to it. Mix well.
  8. Now add lentil mixture and allow it to cool.
  9. Add salt and pepper in dry maida. 
  10. Make small balls of lentils mixture. Dip them first in dry maida later in egg and breadcrumbs. 
  11. Heat oil in a pan and fry the balls from both sides till golden brown.
  12. Serve hot with tomato ketch-up.
